Under My Umbrella

(Dress: Express via Plato's Closet ($8!!), Shoes: Toms, Belt: Kohls, Necklace: Forever 21)

Since my hair has been layered, it's been really hard to put my hair in a braid because the sides fall out of the braid. Valentine did a messy braid with multiple braids, and I did sort of the same thing, but my hair is wet and thicker than hers. I'm looking forward to experimenting with this look in the future. This dress was a great bargain, and these Toms are some of my favorites, but they've never seemed to make it onto the blog these last few weeks. A coworker commented on the dress, saying the color looked good on me. I would pretend to be humble, but really now, who doesn't love compliments? This week I'm going to watch and rewatch Dirty Dancing. I don't care how cliche it is, this is my favorite part.

Rawr means "I Love You" in Dinosaur

(Shirt: Loyal Army via Plato's Closet ($3!!), Skirt: H&M, Shoes: Toms)

I don't know what is is about this shirt, but I fell in love with it instantly. I think it just fits well, and the colors are adorable. I actually wore this with a pair of jean shorts this morning because I was volunteering with my church at a soup kitchen. We served some very kind people, and some very.. interesting ones. My friend had an encounter that was particularly hysterical. A man was hitting on her, and making her obviously uncomfortable, so the man behind said man told her that he would punch the offensive man if she gave him her shoes. Huh? I doubt they were the same size. Working at the food kitchen was  rewarding experience though. I love helping others. And we tried some of the food, and it wasn't half bad!

Hello Wendell

There is a new member of the photography crew, replacing Mr. Bucket, and Mr. Tree Branch. I have been waiting for this moment to arrive! Mister Wendell. He's pretty excellent, and we've discovered that he has QUITE the personality. We could barely keep track of him.
He sleeps in trees. JUST LIKE BEAR GRYLLS!!

He hops fences! Like Kate, at all the wild parties she goes to. ha.

He blends into his surroundings.

He's also a great swimmer. Thanks for joining the team Wendell!

It's Late. Title This Yourself.

(Shirt: Target, Cargos: Target, Wedges: Cynthia Vincent for Target, Belt: Kohl's. Expect Great Things. Gosh, I swear that's an automatic response or something. Necklace: Self-Made, Purse: Wilson's. Stolen for photo-op from P. don't judge. it matched so well!)

The big hair in this last photograph basically summed up the night. We went back in time. Just kidding. P and I went to my sister's show choir performance and it was AWESOME. except for the second act. justkiddingdon'thitme. It was really great. Anytime you can see a show with a friend and point out the really cute guys, it's going to be a good night. Also, the not so cute guys. There were more of those. Sitting next to another friend who falls asleep during the musical numbers that don't involve heavy drums or high-note hitting opera singing is also fun. These skinny cargos are the best thing that ever happened to me. Also, Target, Who has sponsored my outfit for the night. (Oh how I wish). Prugs looks great as well in her pencil skirt. Also, brother got a haircut. You can compare the two. He's had the same haircut for most of his life, so this is a BIG DEAL, people.

Shattered

(Shirt: Grandmother's, Skirt: Target, Shoes: Charlotte Russe, Belt: Mommed)

The new shatter polish by OPI blew my mind. Also, having an aunt who works at a hair salon and can get your FREE shatter polish is fantastic. This week, P and I were downtown and were walking past a pageant, and we got free lip gloss. And it has LED lights in it. what? who does that? well, anyway, it's great when you can't figure out which key is your house key late at night. Other than that, it sort of blinds me when I try to put it on. We'll be working with it. More updates on that.
This week, I reorganized the spice cabinet in our house. Because we have no cabinet doors because of construction. There were an over whelming number of spices that began with the letter "c".
This is one of my favorite things.

(Skirt: Self-made, Shirt: Express via Carissa, Shoes: Charlotte Russe, Watch: Target, Necklace: Tiffany's via Godparents)

This is it. proof. that I have more than two friends. As an individual who continuously takes pictures of herself, I actually associate well with other human beings other than Wendell the tripod (who's new btw. Holla!). This is Pragna. Call her Prugs. She REALLY likes it. Anyway, P and I decided to go on a skirt making endeavor, and I, the seasoned veteran, gladly showed her the way. (there are other skirts other than that, but I'm having trouble with my label sphere. So when I say veteran, I mean 4 skirts. Just for the record.) This one is one of my favorites, and we're glad to have P on the scene (she made hers as well) to bring in ideas about ribbons and contrasting color pockets. We are shooting for the stars, aiming for fitted circle skirt by the end of the summer. I also need to stock up on clothes before college. This photoshoot is JUST FOR YOU, blog viewer. Also, for Meredith Tuttle from Yours, Mine and Ours, because this outfit is TOTALLY modest. score.

Long Time No See

(Shirt: Target, Skirt: Cotton On, Shoes: Toms, Necklace: Light Years, Sunnies: Noodles and Company)

pyrite and a peacock feather.

Hello there! Yes, it's been a while. How are the kids? Well, these last few weeks have flown by, as summer often does. I work quite a few hours, baby sit, dance, workout and mange to hang out with friends in between. It's been cray-cray. And I only use that term in extreme situations. In the last photograph, I decided to share a picture of my valiant steed, Charlotte, who has gotten me out of many difficult situations. Well, actually, she's gotten me INTO more difficult situations than she has saved. One in particular involved a flat tire, but that's nbd. What really shook me was the flat spare. Where is the rule book on that? But other than that and a broken door handle (ask sister about that one), she's a great car. And my last car was the same type, but much older. Actually, my age. So this spring chicken is about 13. I am such a cougar.

Easy Rider

(Shirt: Banana, Skirt: JCREW, Shoes: Target)

Haven't you heard? Pattern mixing is SO this minute. I am so on top of this. But not really. My days have been crammed. Today, I babysat my brother. We made homemade mac and cheese, wrote secret letters with lemon juice, and watched Modern Family underneath a blanket fort. He also sprayed my sister with the hose. But who really cares about that part?
This is the first official blog post that is written from my NEW LAPTOP which I am using, because I am GOING TO COLLEGE. So, take that world. This summer is looking good.

Brown Tones

(Skirt: Landsend, Shirt: Borrowed from Granmda, Shoes: Cynthis Vincent for Target, Belt: Macy's, Necklace: Forever 21, Ring: Kohl's)

This belt was a gift from my best friends in the entire world. So it makes it that much better. This summer, I am working everyday, so I will hopefully be dressed and photographed. But, as can be seen in the previous blog post, sometimes I wear the same things over and over in the summer time because it gets too hot for just about anything. If going to work in my underwear was allowed, I might, when it got THAT humid.

A Week in the Life

(Dress: Kohl's, Shoes: Modcloth)
This was the song I sang at my graduation.

Oh, have I mentioned that I GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL?! I can no longer be a high school drop-out! And only two years more and I can no longer be a pregnant teen. Life's going well. Oh, and fun fact, the gowns we were wearing cannot be washed or dry cleaned...huh.

(Skirt: Self-made, Shirt: JCREW, Shoes: Rainbows)

The necklace I got for graduation from my godparents. Gorgeous. :))

I spent a lot of time messing with the shutter speed on my camera. I thought these were cool.

This one's my favorite.

This Week I:
Graduated from High School
Went to a Memorial Service for a Classmate
Sang in front of 1000 people
Made a skirt with pockets
Went for a run in the rain
Turned 18
Had 5 birthday meals
Tried raw fish sushi
Got my ears double pierced
Started photography class. Me, and 9 middle-aged/elderly women. woot.
