1. Escape the 70s 2. Find Matching Hair

(Shirt: Walmart, Pants: Forever 21, Shoes: Thrifted via Goodwill, Necklace: Forever 21, Watch: Thrifted via Flea Market, Ring: Charlotte Russe)

These pants are "rust colored" and, turns out, so is my hair. The colors are actually very close. These pants required some very fancy maneuvers in order to tuck the shirt in. Not only were people from the 70s SUPER fashionable, as can be seen above, they were good at hiding crease-y shirt lines. Props to the Flower Power. You go. Also: who knew Forever 21 was good at interesting clothing. I mean, I'm just as big a fan of sequins and sparkles as the next person, but these pants seemed totally out of character from the rest of the store. Maybe I don't go to Forever 21 enough. In conclusion: I was made to wear high waisted pants. Groovy!
P.S: Mallory, this post is especially for you. I hope you feel the love. <3

All This and Heaven Too

(Shirt: Express, Skirt: Self-Made, Shoes: Thrifted via Goodwill, Rain Jacket: Black Rivet via WIlson's Outlet, Belt: Thrifted, Necklace: Self-Made)

This week has been crazy. I've reached the part of college where I'm starting to get settled but that also means my entire life is planned out hour by hour. Every club has a different meeting and a different activity schedule and all my classes are important too. I'm at the point where I have to schedule in me time. I have to put time aside to exercise and read books and watch television. Thanksgiving break is soon though! I'll be home by 11 on Tuesday. Haha, all my time back home is scheduled and laid out too. Even my free time is mapped out. Let's just hope I stick to the time table.

Instead

I registered for classes yesterday. This is what I am taking:
Chemistry
Chemistry Lab
Introduction to Exercise Science
Introduction to Anthropology
Medical Terminology
Ballet I

This is what I did instead of focusing on registering for classes:
Looked up leather boots on the internet
  I really like these boots.

This is what I thought about:
-Can they genetically engineer Beluga Whales to be miniature size? So I can put one in my aquarium?
- If human being weighed as much as cotton balls, would it hurt if they were thrown to the ground?
- Why do humans have five fingers if the pinkie is super useless?  Why did we have them to begin with?
- Would I survive in the wild if I didn't have my glasses? (Probably not. Or, as my dad says, I would be assigned to sit in a cave and grind corn or something.)

I'm really productive most days. I promise. Have fun thinking your own "Insteads"

Struggle Bus

(Shirt: JCREW via Outlet, Sweater: JCREW via Thrift Shop, Skirt: LandsEnd, Shoes: Cynthia Vincent for Target, Belt: Thrifted, Necklace: Gifted)

A young girl's struggles with a finicky camera lead to intense frustration, but an inspiring ending when she overcomes her troubles and gets over herself. Excellent humor and good quality dialogue. This film may be up for the next major film prize.

Tango Maureen

(Sweater: Target, Skirt: Self Made, Shoes: White Mountain via TJ Maxx, Tights: Target, Belt: Thrifted, Watch: Thrifted via Flea Market, Scarf: Mommed, Necklace: Thrifted via Flea Market, Glasses: Ray Bans)

My school has a ballroom dancing club with a girl to boy ratio of 1:1.5. I plan on joining sometime in the next few weeks and further skewing said ratio. So excited. This week I went to a conference with my school three states over, got next to no text messages and registered for classes. The conference was excellent, I never get any text messages anyway and class registration went well with only a few hiccups. I got to register a little earlier than many people in my class because I forced myself through large amounts of AP classes. So that's good I guess. I have some late night classes some days though. That's not too fun. Wish me luck in Chemistry!

Sweaters and Sunshine

(Button-Up: JCREW, Sweater: Urban Outfitters, Jeans: Citizens of Humanity via Plato's Closet, Shoes: White Mountain via TJ Maxx, Messenger Bag: Thrifted)

The back of this sweater is a sheer flower pattern. Rebecca originally bought this online and gave it to me! Hooray! (I had to pay for it, but that's besides the point. It was a joyful moment.)

Today I met with my adviser and we mapper out my life. It was a bit frightening. I think I'm going to major in exercise science with double minors in sociology and psychology, but don't hold me to it.. And I want to go abroad for a semester to Germany and a winter term to New Zealand. I took a lot of APs in high school, so that gives me more leeway in deciding what I want to take, but there are so many things I want to do!
Here is my bucket list:
-run a marathon
-write a book
-learn to play guitar
-sew a dress for myself
-learn to take better photographs
-learn to speak German
-go to New Zealand
Don't ask me about the New Zealand thing. I have no idea where that came from. I read a lot of blogs and one in particular is from New Zealand, and it is GORGEOUS. These are my life goals, as of today. Wish me luck!
