So this is sort of a hard thing for me to do right now, which is one of the reasons that I have put it off for so long. In the coming few weeks, I start my first semester in college, and I'm not imagining the transition to include daily/every-other-daily blog posts. I will hopefully be making friends or something. But at my preppy school, maybe I'll be lucky and my clothes will make me an outcast so I can just blog all day! Just kidding. That wasn't too funny. I really would like friends, please. :)
Anyway, once I get situated and find some people who don't mind my existence, I may start this up again. And no way am I deleting this, because it's a very nice history of my life from the last few months. Edited of course. Hey Grandma! Hope you're reading this. :)
Blogging has been an amazing experience, and it's great to see girls out there dressing their best no matter what their colleagues/friends/passerby might think. Some of my favorite, daily reads were Kendi Everyday, My Edit, Faboo, Clothed Much, Rockstar Diaries and The Daybook, among about a dozen others. And I will still read them, probably almost daily.
Good Things I've Learned Fashion Blogging:
- To step out of my comfort zone. Compare this to this. Actually, more like this. or this.
I never would have worn that last outfit before I started blogging. Or asked for that belt for my birthday. Or worn those shoes, for that matter. I only bought those shoes after seeing people wearing them on blogs.
- Sometimes, it's okay to have a down day. Like this. or, let's be honest: this. But it was fun. and comfortable. :)
Some Of the Things I Could Do Without
-Constantly stressing out about taking pictures, especially without Cheyenne and Kayla there everyday after school. And even with Wendell, this will only get worse when school starts. And I don't have a house to escape too. So I'm taking pictures of myself, by myself. Not that I haven't done that before or anything. Once, C, K and I pretended to be photography students to escape questioning from a creepy old man. ha.
- Being afraid to re-wear something, because it's going to be documented. Which can be good when I'm trying to mix it up, but sometimes an outfit just works! and I really should just wear it again sometime. Because it makes me feel good. And that's all that matters.
I'll be checking this every so often, probably for outfit ideas, so it anyone comments, I should be there to answer in a few weeks or so. Although I didn't see a few of them in the past month. (Sorry Cara!)
If any one has advice for dressing in college (where I hear that everyone wears sweatpants and t-shirts. The Horror!), please comment and let me know. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for reading this past year that has gone by so fast/slow. I've learned so much from all of you. I hope it helps me in the future.
xoxo Gossi... just kidding. Allison.
