You Got a Fast Car

Say hello to Rebecca. She is my fabulous roommate. These pictures were from Sportsfest. Where we lost EVERY SINGLE GAME. But we met Tom. and Pubic Hair on the Face Guy. They were a fun crowd.

(Shirt: Target, Skirt: TJ Maxx, Shoes: Converse via Plato's Closet, Necklace: LightYears, Glasses: Rayban's)

This is the kind of stuff that I've been wearing. You were unlucky and missed the picture of me wearing a floor length black dress. That was cute. Needless to say, I do NOT fit in with all these prepsters. But that's a good thing.

(Shirt: Express, Pants: Goodwill, Shoes: Toms, Belt: Goodwill)

I actually wore these with wedges, but they got to be too much. I have to walk SO FRIGGIN' much at this school. But it's good. Got to ward off the Freshmen Fifteen.
Also, you may have noticed the super hipster glasses. I whipped those out. I was just so tired of my old ones. And they were too small, and I couldn't see anything.
Fun fact: I wear my glasses when I feel like making an effort. My contacts are my lazy day eye care. Weird? Very.
These pants are definitely full length petite grandmother pants. I was so proud of myself for figuring out how to wear them.
PS: My school is beautiful. And life is good. And Tracey Chapman may or may not be on repeat...

Flaming Hula Hoops

(Shirt: Express, Skirt: Lands End, Shoes: Toms, Necklace:Gifted, Earrings: Gifted)

"Flamin' Hula Hoops! That's a tasty looking sandwich!" I firmly believe it's going to catch on. Just wait. Anyway, this outfit is from a few days ago. I'm been super lazy about taking pictures. What with watching people make a childhood past time into a dangerous, interesting street performance. I also learned to drive stick. Almost. And then the coolant thingy busted and a HUGE puff of steam came out. I thought I had done it, and was freaking out. Did I mention that it was my grandmother's car? Good news, it wasn't my fault. And I was getting the hang of the whole clutch gas thing. Awesome.
The last day and a half (after getting Teen Vogue) I started reading the Man Repeller, and I believe that this outfit is partially man repeller. The hair was RIGHT ON TOP OF MY HEAD, people. If that doesn't scare 'em off, I don't know what will. Plus, the skirt is super long. I actually went to Morman church with a Morman friend today, and I wore a totally modest outfit (which is HARD. Props to the LDS girls who manage to look good and modest at the same time. It's a real skill). I didn't get a picture of that outfit but tomorrow I might through some things on and photograph them before heading to a day long park adventure with the family for the 4th. Or maybe I'll sleep in. But you'll for sure see them in the next few days because I am no longer frantically volunteering. peace out.

Rawr means "I Love You" in Dinosaur

(Shirt: Loyal Army via Plato's Closet ($3!!), Skirt: H&M, Shoes: Toms)

I don't know what is is about this shirt, but I fell in love with it instantly. I think it just fits well, and the colors are adorable. I actually wore this with a pair of jean shorts this morning because I was volunteering with my church at a soup kitchen. We served some very kind people, and some very.. interesting ones. My friend had an encounter that was particularly hysterical. A man was hitting on her, and making her obviously uncomfortable, so the man behind said man told her that he would punch the offensive man if she gave him her shoes. Huh? I doubt they were the same size. Working at the food kitchen was  rewarding experience though. I love helping others. And we tried some of the food, and it wasn't half bad!

Long Time No See

(Shirt: Target, Skirt: Cotton On, Shoes: Toms, Necklace: Light Years, Sunnies: Noodles and Company)

pyrite and a peacock feather.

Hello there! Yes, it's been a while. How are the kids? Well, these last few weeks have flown by, as summer often does. I work quite a few hours, baby sit, dance, workout and mange to hang out with friends in between. It's been cray-cray. And I only use that term in extreme situations. In the last photograph, I decided to share a picture of my valiant steed, Charlotte, who has gotten me out of many difficult situations. Well, actually, she's gotten me INTO more difficult situations than she has saved. One in particular involved a flat tire, but that's nbd. What really shook me was the flat spare. Where is the rule book on that? But other than that and a broken door handle (ask sister about that one), she's a great car. And my last car was the same type, but much older. Actually, my age. So this spring chicken is about 13. I am such a cougar.

Glaring Light

(Shirt: Thrifted via Plato's Closet, Skirt: Target, Shoes: Toms, Sunglasses: Last Year's Prom)

This is what I changed into once I got off the plane. I was wearing jeans, but it was a good 20 degrees warmer when we landed. There were palm trees and lizard everywhere! (and wasps. I am terrified of bugs that sting. so that was fun.) I spent the whole week watching TV and swimming in the ocean. Just what I needed. :)

Orange You Glad

(Shirt: Michael Starr, thrifted, Skirt: H&M, Belt: Target, Tights: H&M, Shoes: Toms)

Accomplishments:
1. Today I understood all the math I learned. And had a good time in the math classroom, something that has never happened in the course of human events.
2. I said some intelligent things about alliances before WW1. Fist Pump.
3. I introduced my interpretation of "Rhapsody on a Windy Night" (T.S. Eliot) and my English teacher actually thought it was GOOD.
All in all, not a bad day. But now I really want another pair of Toms, the ones owned by the lovely Emily.

Pollyanna

Next year, I'm heading off to college, something that I have always looked forward too, but yesterday my mom signed me up for spring orientation, and I got totally freaked out about it. So I decided to write down some of the things I'm afraid of, and then take a Pollyanna approach. So here goes.

I'm afraid my roommate will be a complete #$^*$^%@$* and I'll be miserable.
If my roommate is a complete #@%&*%, I'll finally have someone to really hate! Maybe I can write a burn book!

I'm afraid I won't make a large group of friends.
Large groups of friends are noisy and always want to do things you don't want to do.

I'm afraid of starting over.
That's the best part! I can dye my hair blue and be angry all the time! I can pretend to be really into Romantic poets and glare at passerby.

I am being chased by a bear.
After I am mauled by this bear (because even Pollyanna can see, Allison has no chance of escaping this situation unharmed), if it rains afterwards I can use the bear's heavy footsteps as small pools of water, and the scratches on the tress to help me stand up if I lose the mobility in my legs.

With that bit of silliness out of my system (sounded British there.. what's that about mate?) I just have to remind myself to breathe. innn and outtt and not be so worried about what's in front of me... or behind me. Gotta watch out for bears.

Blog Post Wherein Cheyenne and Allison Conquer the World

(Shirt: Out of Print Tees, Sweater: Banana Republic Outlet, Jeans: Visgoss via Plato's Closet, Belt: Target, Ring: Gift from Egypt, Earrings: Forever 21, Watch: Fresh Picked)

The other day Cheyenne and I hung out and Cheyenne brought her new Canon Rebel!!!! The picture quality was 59802945 times better than my camera, and I've not been posting because I feel my pictures are significantly worse. I'm now officially saving for the new Canon T21.

Hide and Seek

(Shirt: Borrowed from my sister's friend, Skirt: BB Dakota, Shoes: Toms, Ring: Kohls)

These pictures were taken by my friend Cheyenne, who is going to be a master photographer if she can get such good shots with my point and shoot. She was super helpful today and took pictures after school for me. These shots are also at my school. Brick looks so good with everything!

This morning I woke up 45 minutes later than I normally do. And it was the one morning in the past few weeks that I haven't had my outfit planned out in my head. I grabbed the shirt, and frantically searched for the skirt I wanted, but since my room looks like a bomb went off, I couldn't find it. (Good thing too, because Kate was wearing it today.) I grabbed this skirt, and I think it worked out well. The shirt is poof-y until the waist, where it gathers in, which was exactly where the skirt hit. LUCK!

It wasn't until I looked at the pictures that I realized I was wearing a campaign button for a freshman running for president. Oh well.

Thank God tomorrow is Thursday.
