Struggle Bus

(Shirt: JCREW via Outlet, Sweater: JCREW via Thrift Shop, Skirt: LandsEnd, Shoes: Cynthia Vincent for Target, Belt: Thrifted, Necklace: Gifted)

A young girl's struggles with a finicky camera lead to intense frustration, but an inspiring ending when she overcomes her troubles and gets over herself. Excellent humor and good quality dialogue. This film may be up for the next major film prize.

Allison's Top 10 Things That Make Her Terribly Happy.

(Shirt: Express, Tank: Old Navy, Shoes: Target, Belt: Thrifted, Skirt: Land's End)

My mom bought this skirt, and I thought she was kidding. I mean, really mom? But then longer length skirts came back into style, and I stopped wearing it as a dress.
Because I am obsessed with Rockstar Diaries, here is my list of 10 Things That Make Me Terribly Happy:
1. Tracy Chapman's Fast Car. It just makes me feel good.
2. Beautiful weather
3. Turning in an excellent paper in sociology
4. The person outside my dorm who was taking a nap in a hammock he put between two trees. You go, hammock kid!
5. The feeling when classes are done for the day.
6. The German language. I love the sound of it.
7. Learning where New Zealand is. Don't judge me.
8. Recognizing people I meet on the way to class. It's a new feeling, but I like it.
9. The little play I went to see in a hole-in-the wall acting studio yesterday night. It was adorable. also, fabulous.
10. Taking a deep breath and letting the stress slip away. I've gotten so much better at calming myself down and not worrying about things so much. This is much needed.
BONUS: Fall! I can't wait for boots and scarves and hot chocolate. Also, the retreat I'm going on in a few weeks, where I spend 5 days in a location without running water or electricity. I am so flipping excited!

Flaming Hula Hoops

(Shirt: Express, Skirt: Lands End, Shoes: Toms, Necklace:Gifted, Earrings: Gifted)

"Flamin' Hula Hoops! That's a tasty looking sandwich!" I firmly believe it's going to catch on. Just wait. Anyway, this outfit is from a few days ago. I'm been super lazy about taking pictures. What with watching people make a childhood past time into a dangerous, interesting street performance. I also learned to drive stick. Almost. And then the coolant thingy busted and a HUGE puff of steam came out. I thought I had done it, and was freaking out. Did I mention that it was my grandmother's car? Good news, it wasn't my fault. And I was getting the hang of the whole clutch gas thing. Awesome.
The last day and a half (after getting Teen Vogue) I started reading the Man Repeller, and I believe that this outfit is partially man repeller. The hair was RIGHT ON TOP OF MY HEAD, people. If that doesn't scare 'em off, I don't know what will. Plus, the skirt is super long. I actually went to Morman church with a Morman friend today, and I wore a totally modest outfit (which is HARD. Props to the LDS girls who manage to look good and modest at the same time. It's a real skill). I didn't get a picture of that outfit but tomorrow I might through some things on and photograph them before heading to a day long park adventure with the family for the 4th. Or maybe I'll sleep in. But you'll for sure see them in the next few days because I am no longer frantically volunteering. peace out.

Brown Tones

(Skirt: Landsend, Shirt: Borrowed from Granmda, Shoes: Cynthis Vincent for Target, Belt: Macy's, Necklace: Forever 21, Ring: Kohl's)

This belt was a gift from my best friends in the entire world. So it makes it that much better. This summer, I am working everyday, so I will hopefully be dressed and photographed. But, as can be seen in the previous blog post, sometimes I wear the same things over and over in the summer time because it gets too hot for just about anything. If going to work in my underwear was allowed, I might, when it got THAT humid.

A Year Without Rain

(Shirt: Nordstrom, Skirt: Land's End, Shoes: Miss Trish for Target, Belt: Ralph Lauren [gifted], Necklace: Self-Made, Bracelets: Assorted [gifted])

Don't these spools totally remind you of Kendi?

I saved this belt from a dangerous death, removing it from use as my friend's suitcase-dragging device. Ralph Lauren! Can you believe it!

The little girl's eyes move back and forth. SO COOL! And the necklace also has my class ring and my miraculous medal. I decided that morning that I needed a necklace, so I tossed some things together. I was pretty pleased with how it looked.

Hello. I LOVE YOU.

oh, and YOU. and look! a shoe!

The sky is GORGEOUS in this.

Happy Weekend!

Every Fire is a Lesson Learnt

(Dress: Land's End Skirt, Scarf: Simply Vera Wang via Kohls [gifted], Shoes: Minnetonka, Rings: Charlotte Russe)

I've been feeling restless lately... and like something isn't quite right. I hate that feeling. On the plus side, I finished my Psychology final today! One down.
