Skirt Stuck on Re-Play-ay-ay-ay

(Shirt: Express, Skirt: Thrifted via Goodwill, Shoes: Urban Outfitters, Necklace: Made by a friend, Watch: Thrifted via Flea Market, Belt: Thrifted via Goodwill)

I wear this skirt way more than is healthy. At least once a week. I think it's just because it's so easy to style. I'm also so much more comfortable in long skirts. I was wearing one of my short skirts the other day and was so self conscious the whole day. I felt like I was constantly flashing people. Who knows, maybe I was. Long skirt allow me to sit cross legged and honestly, sit as dude-like as I want too without worrying about showing the world things they really don't need to see. Haha, I'm going to stop myself right now. This is too much information.
I think I'm going to go buy myself a cookie from the coffee shop and start working on my ten page research paper. yeah, that sounds good. I'm going to do that.

Flaming Hula Hoops

(Shirt: Express, Skirt: Lands End, Shoes: Toms, Necklace:Gifted, Earrings: Gifted)

"Flamin' Hula Hoops! That's a tasty looking sandwich!" I firmly believe it's going to catch on. Just wait. Anyway, this outfit is from a few days ago. I'm been super lazy about taking pictures. What with watching people make a childhood past time into a dangerous, interesting street performance. I also learned to drive stick. Almost. And then the coolant thingy busted and a HUGE puff of steam came out. I thought I had done it, and was freaking out. Did I mention that it was my grandmother's car? Good news, it wasn't my fault. And I was getting the hang of the whole clutch gas thing. Awesome.
The last day and a half (after getting Teen Vogue) I started reading the Man Repeller, and I believe that this outfit is partially man repeller. The hair was RIGHT ON TOP OF MY HEAD, people. If that doesn't scare 'em off, I don't know what will. Plus, the skirt is super long. I actually went to Morman church with a Morman friend today, and I wore a totally modest outfit (which is HARD. Props to the LDS girls who manage to look good and modest at the same time. It's a real skill). I didn't get a picture of that outfit but tomorrow I might through some things on and photograph them before heading to a day long park adventure with the family for the 4th. Or maybe I'll sleep in. But you'll for sure see them in the next few days because I am no longer frantically volunteering. peace out.

Walk the Walk

(Shirt: Express, Jeans: Seven for All Mankind via Plato's Closet, Shoes: Miss Trish for Target, Belt: Target, Necklace: gifted [for my first communion], ring: craftfair)

Now I have both lizards, and leopards. :)

I promised myself that I would only post good pictures now that I have my new camera, but alas, I don't have a good tripod, and my mother/sister/friend have NO patience for taking pictures of me, and they are snapped from great distances. A lot of the time in the dark. When people have time. Anyway, these are less than satisfactory (except for the close-up of my shoes, the only one I could take myself by hand. I am so proud of that shot.)
I spent the entire afternoon after my Psych exam watching North and South. That is one of my all time favorite movies. Look it up on IMDB. The main character is SUCH a hottie.

Etcetera

(Shirt: Charlotte Russe, Boots: Steinmart, Tshirt: Express, Skirt: Target)

Prom is next weekend. I just got a dress, and am worrying about everything involved. Random scenarios keep popping through my head involving me stepping my dress (which I'm borrowing and is irreplaceable), spilling food on said dress, and having a horrible time. And why? I have no idea. Stupid teenage hormones.

The White Shirt Project

(Skirt: H&M, Shirt: Express, Shoes: Cynthia Vincent for Target, Necklaces: Aeropostale)

These pictures are from last school year when I was doing my own tiny version of "The Uniform Project", where I wore the same white shirt everyday (washing it each night. I promise), just wearing it with different things each time.Today was only a half day at school, and my outfit was kinda plain, so I thought this would be better. Now for the next few times when I don't have an actual outfit to post, I'll post a picture from that experiment.

My brother and my dad took these pictures. The last one is my favorite. :)

Windows to the Soul

(Shirt: Express, Jeans: Seven for All Mankind via Plato's Closet, Heels: Liz Claiborne via DSW, Necklaces: Aeropostale)

Yesterday my friend Kayla (the one I trade clothes with) had the awesome idea of taking pictures in the windows of our school. We wore similar clothes and stood on window ledges. People kept staring at us. haha.

Our school is an old textile mill. Walking through a building that has had so many other people walk through it before me is an awesome experience. There are random pipes and columns on the inside. It's gorgeous. :)

These jeans are the most comfortable things I own. And Citizens of Humanity jeans for $20? That's what I'm talking about. The shoes I've worn down to the metal on the inside of the heel. I've had them for four years and wear them whenever possible. I really need to get them resoled.

It was the most beautiful fall day. Just gorgeous. I would so much rather be doing this than be inside learning about the history of the English language or the Magna Carta. Important, I know. But school seems so unnecessary when it's so perfect out. I can't wait until fall break! Hope your day was as wonderful as mine. :)

Navajo Haze

This is an exciting moment for me, because this is my first post! I am finally doing what I've always wanted to do. First things first, I'm Allison, and I love styling clothing. I don't think my posts are about fashion per say, more like my daily style diary. A warning: I will mix black and brown, and other patterns and colors that perhaps in certain opinions shouldn't be put together. I also might wear white at inappropriate times of the year.

This outfit is one of my new favorites, new because this vest was recently purchased from a thrift store. It came with a belt that was immediately taken off, and I like it better this way.

(vest: Old Navy via Goodwill, shirt: Express, skirt: Old Navy, ring: Boutique near my house, necklace: made for me by a friend, shoes: Rainbows)

Getting dressed in the mornings is my favorite part of the day. I love picking out different pieces that I've never worn before and trying them out. This skirt is my go-to skirt when nothing else works. It and the flip-flops I'm wearing are going to be over worn. Sorry about that. :)

I love this ring a lot, and it's also relatively new. I wonder why people don't wear geodes on their fingers more often.

That's all for now! Thanks for reading. :)
