Pollyanna

Next year, I'm heading off to college, something that I have always looked forward too, but yesterday my mom signed me up for spring orientation, and I got totally freaked out about it. So I decided to write down some of the things I'm afraid of, and then take a Pollyanna approach. So here goes.

I'm afraid my roommate will be a complete #$^*$^%@$* and I'll be miserable.
If my roommate is a complete #@%&*%, I'll finally have someone to really hate! Maybe I can write a burn book!

I'm afraid I won't make a large group of friends.
Large groups of friends are noisy and always want to do things you don't want to do.

I'm afraid of starting over.
That's the best part! I can dye my hair blue and be angry all the time! I can pretend to be really into Romantic poets and glare at passerby.

I am being chased by a bear.
After I am mauled by this bear (because even Pollyanna can see, Allison has no chance of escaping this situation unharmed), if it rains afterwards I can use the bear's heavy footsteps as small pools of water, and the scratches on the tress to help me stand up if I lose the mobility in my legs.

With that bit of silliness out of my system (sounded British there.. what's that about mate?) I just have to remind myself to breathe. innn and outtt and not be so worried about what's in front of me... or behind me. Gotta watch out for bears.

For the Birds

(Shirt: Target, Skirt: H&M, Scarf: H&M, Sweater Tights: Target, Shoes: Modcloth)

Today was a good day, probably because there wasn't any school. Plus! It was actually warm enough to go outside in a t-shirt. This is the first time where I didn't freeze my butt off standing around. Also, the first time my neighbors didn't stare at me like I was a crazy person for taking pictures of myself repeatedly with non-weather-appropriate clothes on. Random note, I got a Modcloth gift card and don't know what to spend it on, which is odd. Now I'm going to watch Man vs. Wild, and see him eat a snake while it's still alive for something. Just to spice up my life.
** I think this is cute: thoughts?

On My Own

(Dress: Kohl's, Scarf: H&M, Belt: Vintage, Tights: H&M, Boots: Rack Room Shoes)

Another try with belting a scarf. This time, I did it on a Sunday, so I no one could criticize like last time

Two for the Show

(Shirt: Express, Skirt: Target, Shoes: Converse, Belt: TJ Maxx, Scarf: H&M, Ring: Unknown)

Day two! I'm excited! :)

This feels very "Bridge to Terabithia" to me. I think because it looks like the ground doesn't exist.

Owl Jewelry. Another one of my obsessions. :)

I will wear these shoes until they fall to pieces.
Happy Remixing!

Children of the Corn

(Shirt: Nordstrom, Scarf: H&M, Jeans: American Eagle, Shoes: Sperrys, Ring: Gift from Egypt)

Today my family went to a corn maze. In this picture, I am sitting in a corn box. Yes, like a sand box, but filled with corn. It's so much better this way.

Tic Tac Toe Anyone? And yes, the "O"s are toilet seat covers. duh.

Aren't my sister's clothes cute? (Shirt: Old Navy, Jeans: Lucky via Plato's Closet, Shoes: Converse) We're a converse family.

This part of the attraction was called the "Hay Mountain". My mom also shot a Corn Cannon. It doesn't get better than this, people.

Sleep Deprivation

(Shirt: Express, Skirt: H&M, Scarf: H&M, Shoes: Charlotte Russe, Earrings: Vintage)

This is the only picture that I can access right now from this computer for this outfit, so I'll go ahead and share it. Although, just so you know, I wore this last year. So this outfit is TOTALLY allowed to used again. Perhaps in the next week. And there will be no complaining. Understand? Haha. This is the outfit I got the most compliments on. I think it's the scarf.
Three Random Things I Wanted to Share.
1. The Daybook is one of my new favorite blogs.
2. When reorganizing the spice cabinet in my house, I found that over 50% of our spices started with the letter C. And we have a lot.
3. I bought a purse today at Ann Taylor LOFT that was originally $70, but it was marked down to $12. SCORE!

Rinse and Repeat

(Dress: Kohls, Scarf: H&M, Shoes: Charlotte Russe, Ring: Unknown Boutique)

Cheyenne was once again taking 1000 million awesome shots, so this post is going to be exceptionally long, and these are only a fraction of the good photos.

This time we went up into the old train cars. That was a lot of fun.

This dress was perfect for running around the train tracks today. The scarf got a little hot. Probably could have rethought that. But whatever. It looked good, and was screaming for fall. It must have scared it off because we are getting 10 more days of super hot weather in the next weeks. Gross.

I over wear these shoes. They're so great. And Charlotte Russe is so cheap, I couldn't pass them up when I saw them.

During this photo shoot the sun was so bright that I have about 20 pictures of me glaring angrily at the camera because I couldn't open my eyes all the way.

A Pullman car! I was so excited when I saw this that I had to share it. Even though it has nothing to do with fashion.
Have a great rest of your weekend! :)
