Shattered

The new shatter polish by OPI blew my mind. Also, having an aunt who works at a hair salon and can get your FREE shatter polish is fantastic. This week, P and I were downtown and were walking past a pageant, and we got free lip gloss. And it has LED lights in it. what? who does that? well, anyway, it's great when you can't figure out which key is your house key late at night. Other than that, it sort of blinds me when I try to put it on. We'll be working with it. More updates on that. 

This week, I reorganized the spice cabinet in our house. Because we have no cabinet doors because of construction. There were an over whelming number of spices that began with the letter "c". 

This is one of my favorite things.

This is it. proof. that I have more than two friends. As an individual who continuously takes pictures of herself, I actually associate well with other human beings other than Wendell the tripod (who's new btw. Holla!). This is Pragna. Call her Prugs. She REALLY likes it. Anyway, P and I decided to go on a skirt making endeavor, and I, the seasoned veteran, gladly showed her the way. (there are other skirts other than that, but I'm having trouble with my label sphere. So when I say veteran, I mean 4 skirts. Just for the record.) This one is one of my favorites, and we're glad to have P on the scene (she made hers as well) to bring in ideas about ribbons and contrasting color pockets. We are shooting for the stars, aiming for fitted circle skirt by the end of the summer. I also need to stock up on clothes before college. This photoshoot is JUST FOR YOU, blog viewer. I like this picture... even though it looks like I have weird growths on both sides of my body. ha.

I am still a fan of this necklace. I think I might never convert is back. :)

Before the Rain

So on the weekends, I like to post all the things that I didn't get a chance to during the week. I was particularly proud of this outfit, and felt the need to share it, so after my shower (finally), I put it on. I was going to wear the other outfit I liked and was about to run upstairs and change when it thundered. And then all this rain started pouring out of the sky. And I got super angry, because this coming week is going to be a crazy race against time, and there is no time for changing and posing, etc. :( pout.

Also, my hair IS freshly cleaned in these pictures. It just looks weird because I threw it right up after my shower. No need to be grossed out about this post. :)

White pants in winter? I know you're shocked. Totally breaking the rules. I'm a secretive rebel, yelling insults at other drivers after they've driven away, thinking of intelligent comebacks after the moment has passed, you know it. Let's be real.

Anyway, today was warm, and it was the second day of track practice, and the nice weather and the exercise always puts me in a better mood. Thanks for the photos Kayla!

Sleep Deprivation

This is the only picture that I can access right now from this computer for this outfit, so I'll go ahead and share it. Although, just so you know, I wore this last year. So this outfit is TOTALLY allowed to used again. Perhaps in the next week. And there will be no complaining. Understand? Haha. This is the outfit I got the most compliments on. I think it's the scarf.

Three Random Things I Wanted to Share.

1. The Daybook is one of my new favorite blogs.

2. When reorganizing the spice cabinet in my house, I found that over 50% of our spices started with the letter C. And we have a lot.

3. I bought a purse today at Ann Taylor LOFT that was originally $70, but it was marked down to $12. SCORE!

Mix it Up

The first picture attempted to hide my feet because... I'm in a shoe slump! I've worn these black shoes every single day for.. a really long time! The second picture revealed them a bit too much, so I'm forced to bring it up. I think that if anyone looking at this blog wasn't ready for fall, after seeing these shoes every single day for a very, very long time, even if they were afraid of falling leaves and disliked apple cider, they would be yelling "BRING IT ON! Get some boots on this girl!"

And in this last picture, nothing says "class" like a MUG root bear can. I thinking about having my room decorated with them.

All in all, I loved this outfit today, although the belt kept riding up in the back and driving me crazy.  The thing is, I really needed it. The belt provided a barrier between the lace and the funky polka dots. This skirt was so cheap I got super excited. I love Target clearance! The day I bought it I noticed that Tania from What Would A Nerd Wear was wearing the gray version of this skirt. That made my day. 

The weather is cooling down! Hello jeans! Hello blankets! Hello scarves and boots and fires in the fireplace! Haha, I'm obsessed.

Aufwiedersehen

I wore this outfit on the drive home from the wedding yesterday. I didn't realize that the weather was suddenly going to get cooler so I was chilly for a while. Other than that, it was really comfortable. I normally wear this shirt with jeans or other pants because it flares out a little at the bottom, but I like how it looks tucked into a skirt. Too bad skirt weather is almost over. I know that I just spent most of the time on my blog talking about how much I wanted fall to come, but there is something so awesome and easy about skirts and sandals that I'm going to miss. Now the layering challenge of fall!

Your Presence is Requested

This dress is so great. It's comfortable and nice enough to wear to Church, or a wedding- which is where I was this weekend. It was outside along the Blue Ridge Parkway and the reception was a giant picnic potluck with blankets and water gun fights and 30 different types of pie. My entire extended family from my dad's side was there so I got to see all my baby cousins.

Possibly my favorite part of the entire wedding was that for the reception they went out and bought a ton of old mugs and plates from a thrift store and I got to keep a mug covered in cats and books, two of my favorite things. It's got a little chip, but I think it gives it a personality.

Rinse and Repeat

Cheyenne was once again taking 1000 million awesome shots, so this post is going to be exceptionally long, and these are only a fraction of the good photos.

This time we went up into the old train cars. That was a lot of fun. 

This dress was perfect for running around the train tracks today. The scarf got a little hot. Probably could have rethought that. But whatever. It looked good, and was screaming for fall. It must have scared it off because we are getting 10 more days of super hot weather in the next weeks. Gross.

I over wear these shoes. They're so great. And Charlotte Russe is so cheap, I couldn't pass them up when I saw them.

During this photo shoot the sun was so bright that I have about 20 pictures of me glaring angrily at the camera because I couldn't open my eyes all the way.

A Pullman car! I was so excited when I saw this that I had to share it. Even though it has nothing to do with fashion.
