Setting the Mood: Christmas by Michael Buble
Emotions: Joy, Deep Sadness, Apprehension
Rearranging Kelsey's room for the umpteenth time. Favorite comment on this photo: "What is that homeless girl doing on Kelsey's bed?" haha. Currently her room has a loft where she has a dog bed and a fish tank (think: artsy, not crazy) and her bed is underneath with curtains surrounding it. An awesome private place. Props to E, K and I for making it happen. I hope she doesn't change her mind again for a WHILE.
The Resident Student Association had a Christmas party that I helped organize. We had gingerbread house decorating, ornament decorating, hot chocolate, hot cider and candycanes. And tons and tons of Michael Buble. What a great combination.
Gingerbread House decorating at 4 in the morning on a Friday Saturday. You know, the ush. Unfortunately, it was the opposite of structurally sound and collapsed tight after the picture was taken. So we ate it.
Plastic Watches that cost way too much just because they are Lilly? I swore I would never own Lilly, but look how cute they are!!
A 7 foot tall ice sculpture right outside the dining hall before the Winter Wonderland Dinner. Notice that I am not wearing pants or a jacket. It was 60 degrees. It was melting MAD fast, but it was pretty while it lasted.
What I Learned:
-A bathroom can smell like puke for a ridiculous amount of time
-Not to take things too personally
-Pizza is NOT your friend
-Madmen is just as addicting in college
-8 am's are the devil
-Money is too easy to spend
-You can never have too many command hooks
-Clubs are the best way to meet people
All in all, college has been a good experience. I've laughed really hard, sobbed and experienced other freaky ups and downs of emotion, but I'm blaming it all on losing the foundation of Maslow's hierarchy of needs:
The love and belonging part is the most important. College is kind of rough in that aspect.
Thanks for sticking through the crazy postings of my first college semester!
